First we welcome Kathy Mosley and Allen Wytcherley both guests of Rosemary Sanders. I would list Lois Kain who often accompanies Herb Votaw but I consider her as an honorary member.
Thank you goes to Jan Slusser for her presentation and information about the upcoming event to honor our Oregon Nat’l Guard. Also we thank Dave Pearson for his presentation and information on the upcoming escort ride for the recently located veteran’s cremains of Johnnie Franklin Callahan, James William Dunn and Isaiah Mays all three Silver Star awardees. They will each receive honors at Arlington National Cemetery.
As usual, we shared stories and friendship before the meeting.
Now that the weather is teasing us, three bikes and four brave souls followed me on a ride, after the meeting. We went north on Hwy 5 to Glendale, Cow Creek Rd. to Riddle and then lunch at the Seven Feathers Truck stop. A waterline burst while we were waiting for lunch and that provided a little entertainment at the restaurant.
I forgot to mention that we only took the scenic route twice during the ride. The weather was fantastic and we did have fun.
I promise that more great weather and rides are coming soon so get those bikes ready and let’s go find some new ice cream stops.
