Wow! Another successful annual Chapter "A" garage sale even if it did rain. It was time well spent since it rained and nobody except Hans wanted to ride. That’s right, Hans rode in on Big Red just to pay a visit and see how things were going.
Well, as a matter of fact, it went very well in spite of the rain. I cleaned out the car-port and that’s where we displayed everything. It was a lot more convenient than carrying everything back on the deck like we did in previous years. Ken brought a large bright red banner that said SALE and I believe that really helped.
Betty and Carmen did the important thing, they brought food. We had hot coffee all day and, most important, we made + $400.00 for the Chapter.
Some of the things that we thought would sell didn’t and some of the things we didn’t think would sell did so you never know. The professionals were at the gate ready to buy at 7:30 AM Friday morning. Those are the people who go through the place like a whirlwind, they know what they’re looking for and they don’t want to pay anything for it. One guy came in and said that he was looking for guns and ammunition. We told him that we keep those for ourselves.
Judy and I really want to thank those members who helped to make this successful And especially those who helped set up and tear down. I can’t believe that it took less that 45 minutes to take everything down, pack it up and have the car-port back to normal.
Now we want to wish everyone a safe and enjoyable May 2009. Judy and I will spend most of the month on the road having fun and visiting with our many friends.
